Fuel drops keep falling on my shoe
And just like before when it
Was one or maybe two
Nothing seem to work
Those fuel drops are falling on my shoe
They keep falling
So I did some talking to “Jennet”
And I said I didn’t like the way
She got things wet
Sloshing all that fuel
Those fuel drops are falling on my shoe
They keep falling
But there is one thing I know
The fuel that it sends to meet me wont *de-feet* me
It wont be long till cleanliness steps up to greet me
Fuel drops keep falling on my shoe
But that doesn’t mean my socks
Will soon be turning blue
Drippings not for me
‘cause I am never going to stop
The drops by complaining
‘cause the carbs are new
Once again I’ll wear my shoe!
I wrote this little ditty a while ago when someone on the motorcycle mailing list/internet club I belong to, called “Slash5 United” which is for and about older BMW's posted a technical question dealing with a problem he was having with dripping fuel and had a subject line of “Fuel drops keep falling on my shoe”. Well, of course, I immediately thought of that old song “Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head” and in the space an hour or so I came up with this rendition of that old, well known tune.
