Once again this year, the Honda Riders of Tidewater are sponsoring the Virginia Grand Tour.
2007 is the 4th annual, and I think you will once again get to some areas of Virginia and some roads you haven't seen before.
The VGT is 15 'checkpoints' scattered all around Virginia. You have all summer to visit them. Once you get 12 checkpoints, you qualify as a finisher and will receive a commemorative pin or year-bar (if you were a finisher in a previous VGT).
For those of you who didn't participate in the 2006 VGT, we have altered the format slightly. You are no longer required to get your passport stamped at the checkpoint. Instead, you just answer a question for each checkpoint. The answer will be obvious when you arrive at the checkpoint. Something like: how many gas pumps are in front of the checkpoint? -or- What is the name of the church? This removes any problems with checkpoints going out of business, loosing the stamp, not telling all of the employees about the VGT, being closed when you get there, etc, etc, etc. (Think I've run into any of these???? ;-)
The price of the 2007 VGT remains $15 per Passport, and I really hope you choose to join us this year. And please tell your friends and riding buddies. All proceeds from the VGT go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, so we are also helping support a good cause. Please make checks payable to: Honda Riders of Tidewater
To order your VGT Passport, send $15 to:

And if you have a suggestion for a checkpoint in 2008, let me know. Got a favorite stretch of road that you think other riders would enjoy? Know of a nice little out of the way spot? I can probably make a checkpoint out of it. Let me know.
